Points for pointe

​

  • Warm up going through the feet alternately as soon as you put the pointe shoes on to feel the shoe and the articulation of the feet.

  • Line of the foot on point is straight through toes ankles and knees all must be in line.

  • Same line for parallel and turned out positions.

  • Rise through the 3/4 point, demi point and push with the toes onto full pointe.

  • Legs fully pulled up and turned out.

  • Make sure to be fully on the box of the shoe.

  • Lower through the demi point articulation through the foot.

  • Line of the foot is fundamental in every position especially when executing movements on one leg.

  • Keep ankles strong and supported.

  • The foot is fully stretched inside the pointe shoe.
